When it's cold

This is what I wore last Saturday (and Sunday for the pictures) and these boots and cardigan are on my winter wardrobe staple. I honestly hate it to say that something is on my staple, but it's true. Got the boots on sale and they're actually a size too big, but not like that a pair of tights and some good socks can't fix. I was so happy when I found them. Got them for half off! Just like the bag. I wanted it last summer, but thought it was too pricey and now, same as the boots, half off.
About the cardigan, I already have it for 2 years now, I have lost 4 buttons and it's still high on my list. It just does it so well on these cold and windy winter days.

Winter Baking

Baking really has been a wonderful thing to do for me and I'm seriously considering making it my job. That's why I did a pastry course 2 weeks ago to introduce me to that world and I really liked it. It's hard work, but that never stopped me doing anything (except when it comes to working out).

Anyhow, these are some things I made the past weeks. I made the gingerbreadcake last week, the winterwonderland cake for Christmas, the browniecake for a birthday and the macarons and chocolatechip cookies were one of the things we made at the pastry course. I'm a big macarons fan, especially from Ladurée. But geez, I really need to say these were almost as good!

I'm starting to begin to develop my own recipes, so I can start a baking blog. So perhaps in the near future I can show cakes that really are 'my own'.

It's a New Year

I got this dress with the thought: "it's not something I already have, so this must be new for me". Now when I'm looking at the pictures, I can't agree anymore. Though, new for me or not, I like it and these boots are actually new to me. The last time I wore overknees they were flat and less 'sexy'. So these boots were out of my comfort zone. I couldn't find a look I liked them with, until this dress. I think the dress and boots are right together. To spice things up.

Anyhow, I got this hat for Christmas from my boyfriend and I love it. I've been wearing it ever since. I also got it in black, but black just doesn't seem to work so good as the one I'm wearing here.

Carven + Charlotte Olympia

Hi all, I'm going to start 2014 with a post with some new shoes, since I've been to London in the last week of December. The weekend that all the sales started, so I couldn't help myself to browse around at the shoe department at Harrods. Great shoes and way better prices. I got these shoes for a fraction of the actual price. These shoes were about a quarter of what they normally were. That's what I call a good sale.
